Funam Development Association (FUDA) is the administrative organ that takes care of developmental issues in the village. This association has been tested and proven to be the most successful in Meta. FUDA is a seed that was nursed in Douala in the late 90s. It has gradually grown and now has branches in other parts of the national triangle. Plans are currently underway to extend FUDA to the diaspora. FUDA is also one of those rare associations that have recognized the ingenuity of a woman.
That is why the pioneer president General of the association was a woman in the person of Mrs. Manga Rose. Right from the moment the national bureau was created, she became the president general. During her tenure, she succeeded in uniting all sons and daughters with the soul intention of making Funam a London in Africa. She achieved just too many projects during her reign.
The second President General is Mr Mbuta Ngoh George. He draws inspiration from the many posts he has held in other meetings and associations to make his administration in FUDA, a people centered administration. It was under his tenure that the resounding Fon’s return was organized.
Some Achievements of FUDA
Being the development arm of the village, FUDA has achieved quite a lot for the Funam community thus proving that it is a very necessary tool for modern societies. Some of the major achievements of this association include:
o Uniting all sons and daughters of Funam origin
o Purchasing over 150 chairs which are currently generating income for the community.
o Completing the community hall in the palace. (the roof, window protectors, floor, plastering)
o Hosting BADA, MECUDA executive as well as General assembly meetings repeatedly.
o Organizing the powerful Fon’s return in 2016 which has been termed as the most successful among others.
o Organising one of the most successful fundraisings in Meta land meant for the renovation of the main palace building.
o Extended FUDA to other branches. Etc.

FUDA DOUALA

FUDA Douala is the mother branch of FUDA and has remained the brain behind most of the association’s achievements. The story of FUDA will hardly be complete if FUDA Douala is not mentioned. It was in Douala that this mustard seed was planted by a handful of persons. Today, it has grown and extended to other branches. So far the presidents that have run FUDA Douala are as follows:
i. Mr Asiri Tangoh alias BOLINGO
ii. Mrs Manga Rose
iii. Mr Moden Godlove
iv. Elder Mbamubat George.
v. Mr Tah Harry Foje
It should be noted that the two President General that have run FUDA National are from Douala. These two are among the founding members of this association.
Being a mother branch, FUDA Douala through their constant outing programs has succeeded to create other branches like Kumba, Kake, Buea, and Limbe, Douala, Yaounde and the USA. FUDA Douala has carried out up to 4 external visits.
